We will enjoy a light meal, followed by a performance of Danny Johnson's Dueling Pianos. Hosted by the Port Arthur Rotary Club, the night is all about FUN. The atmosphere thrives on the fact that we can all enjoy music together. Dancing is encouraged and an extra microphone is set up for participating patrons to sing the songs that they had requested, whether it be as the lead vocalist or just as a harmony. Usually these types of piano bars have substantial sound systems, and most of the songs performed are rock and roll, "classic rock", Top 40, R&B, or country, played primarily by request. The modern format originated in late 1986 at Alley Cats in Dallas, Texas, and was based on the old-style dueling pianos.
